About C. S. I Emmanuel Congregation

A simple and spiritual beginning at the residence of Mr. Babu Cherian, on     Sunday  October14, 2001, rang the bell for the present set up of CSI congregation of Atlanta . The service was solemnized by the prayer and preaching of Rev. M.O Jacob.

Subsequent Sunday get-togethers in different homes and later at the Lilburn Church hall had been a blessing for the CSI group at Atlanta . Since then we have had the pleasure to welcome new families having parent membership from CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese India .

The Second land mark in the history of the present church formation took place on a meeting held at Mr. Mathukutty George’s house on memorial day May 27, 2003. Messer’s, Mathukutty George, David John, Mathew George, Babu Cherain, Jacob Cherain, and Dr.  Zachariah Oommen (On Conference Call) prayerfully decided with the blessing of Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel, Bishop of Madhya Kerala Diocese, to form a congregation and to name it as “Emmanuel CSI Congregation of Atlanta”. 

The first worship service, with Holy Communion was conducted by Rev. Johnny Joseph on Sunday June 1, 2003 . Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel, Bishop of Madhya Kerala Diocese, officially inaugurated and solemnized the church on July 13, 2003 . This is the first Malayalam CSI congregation in Atlanta which is fully constituted under the administration and spiritual leadership of The Bishop of CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese, India
